Description:
The City will be providing improvements to the center median islands on Novi Road between 12 Mile Road and 13 Mile Road. The City will deconstruct the current, natural, sunken islands and replace them with newly raised, decorative concrete islands, along with planter boxes for some limited small bushes and trees.
No detours will be needed. One lane, in both directions (outer lanes) will be provided for the duration of the project.

Progress:
6/2/2026: The City of Novi has terminated its contract with the previously awarded contractor after they were unable to meet the required bonding and insurance criteria. We are currently negotiating with the second-lowest bidder to keep the project moving forward. If a responsible agreement cannot be finalized, the City will either re-bid the project for fall construction or postpone the work until next year.
4/7/26: The contractor, Santos Cement, will start construction on June 8, after school lets out for the summer. Construction is expected to take approximately two months to complete.
3/10/26: The contract has been awarded, and a work schedule is being developed.
