Description:
In cooperation with the Corridor Improvement Authority (CIA), the City is moving forward with a plan to make significant improvements to the existing sidewalk, lighting, and road pavements on both the east/west and north/south portions of Main Street from Grand River Avenue to Novi Road.
Traffic Control/Detours:
No detours will be necessary for this project, but may involve small, distinct lane closures at the specific work areas. The lane closures will be protected with traffic cones and barrels along with flagging personnel while the work is actively in progress.
Progress:
10/14/2026 - City Council approved the award to OCG Companies, LLC at the October 12 meeting. A preliminary pre-construction conference will be held soon with the contractor, so they can begin ordering long lead-time items ahead of the spring 2027 start date.
10/7/2026: Bids have been received, and the contract will be awarded to the lowest bidder at the first City Council meeting in October.
8/25/26: The City is finalizing plans and specifications with the CIA for approval and is looking to go out to bid by the end of this month, with construction slated for early spring of 2027.
7/28/26: Construction is slated for early spring of 2027.
