In 2005, the City of Novi Youth Council was created, encouraging local students to become civically active within the community. It was charged with the responsibility of making recommendations to the City of Novi concerning the needs of youth, families, and seniors of the city and the appropriate means by which public and private agencies, in cooperation with volunteer efforts, may address such needs.
The Novi Youth Council is no longer the most effective model for sustained youth engagement. At the August 25, 2025, City Council meeting, the Youth Council was officially dissolved and replaced with an exciting new opportunity—the Mayor’s Youth Forum. The Mayor’s Youth Forum will establish an open, inclusive platform for all Novi high-school-aged residents to share ideas, discuss issues, and engage with City leadership more effectively.
We encourage you to stay connected and check the City’s website in the coming months for details on how you can get involved in this new initiative. In the meantime, you can review the information presented to Council by visiting: City Council Meeting – August 25, 2025.
We truly value your interest in engaging with our community, and we hope you’ll consider participating in the Mayor’s Youth Forum.
