Board of Review reviews property assessments as set by the City Assessor and hears appeals by individual property owners; then reduces, adds to or denies said appeal. A certification of the assessment role is required by the Board of Review per the state statute.

Organizational Meeting – 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. on the Tuesday following the first Monday in March.
March appeal hearings: Begin on the 2nd Monday in March for three consecutive days. Monday and Wednesday run 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Tuesday runs from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Lunch is provided on Monday and Wednesday, and dinner is provided on Tuesday.
July: The board of review meets on the Tuesday following the third Monday in July, typically from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
December: The board of review meets the Tuesday following the second Monday in December, typically from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
Board of review members are required by PA 660 of 2018 to attend a three-hour training every other year.
Due to the importance of the board of review to the fairness and uniformity of the assessing process, board members are paid a stipend of $30.00 per hour served.
