Join us for a week-long celebration of nature, sustainability, and community at Lakeshore Park! From April 20 to April 25, immerse yourself in activities that honor our environment, educate about conservation, and foster a love for the outdoors.

Event Highlights

Tree Fact Trail (All Week)
Explore the beauty and benefits of trees with informational signs lining the trails at Lakeshore Park and Rotary Park.

Birdwatching Walk and Talk

  • Date: Monday, April 20, 2026
  • Time: 9:00 AM
  • Location: Lakeshore Park
  • Details: Join Wild Birds Unlimited to learn about migratory birds and for a guided birding walk to discover local birds.

Spreading Some Shade and Pruning Like a Pro with Keith Salowich, City Forester

  • Date: Tuesday, April 21, 2026
  • Time: 5:30-6:30pm
  • Location:Novi Civic Center
  • Details: Join the City of Novi’s Forester for an informational presentation on tree planting, pruning, and other tree maintenance activities. Attendees will learn best practices and common missteps to avoid in order to help their trees thrive. Bring tree questions for an informal Q&A following the presentation.

Park Clean-Up Day

  • Date: Wednesday, April 22, 2026
  • Time: TBD
  • Location: Pavilion Shore Park
  • Details: This Earth Day, help us clean up trash at Pavilion Shore Park.

Arbor Day Celebration – Saturday, April 25

Time: 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM
Location: Lakeshore Park

Celebrate Arbor Day with hands-on activities for all ages:

  • Garlic Mustard Pull: Help preserve the park’s natural beauty by removing invasive plants. Bring gloves.
  • Seedling Giveaway: Take home a tree/shrub to plant and grow. Pre-registration is required!
  • Educational Booths: Visit booths hosted by local organizations to learn about sustainability, conservation, and more. Participating organizations: 
    • Beautification Commission
    • Oakland County CISMA
    • Oakland County Parks
    • Huron River Watershed Council

 

 

 

 

How to Register

Seedling giveaway requires pre-registration. Registration for seedlings will begin on Monday, February 23 and close on Friday, March 6. Click the link below to register and select the trees you would like.
